Aloft Circus Arts Class Policies
Payment Policy
- Payment is expected at the time of registration via paypal. If you wish to pay by cash or check, payment is required within 48 hours of registration. You must email Sharon (sharon@aloftcircusarts.com) to set up an alternate method of payment. If we do not receive payment or we do not hear from you to set up payment, your registration will be canceled. Paying is the only way to secure your space in the class. Until payment has been received, you can be bumped from the class.
- Promotional codes must be used at registration; discounts cannot be issued after registration and payment have been processed. To receive the early bird discount, registration and payment must be received by the designated date. If you do not pay by the specified date, you will not receive the discount.
- If you register and pay for a drop-in class on-line you must bring proof of payment with you to that class.
Make-Up Policy:
o All students are allowed two make-up classes per each 8-week session; sessions less then 8 weeks in length, 1 make-up. Make-up classes must be completed within the current session and cannot carry over to next session. They must be taken in the same type of class (Silks in silks, trapeze in trapeze, etc), aerial conditioning or open gym (only for students who have completed at least one session of a level II class). All make ups must be scheduled with Sharon (sharon@aloftcircusarts.com) at least 48 hours in advance of the desired make-up class, and make-up slots are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.
o If an instructor or Aloft needs to cancel a class, the instructor will schedule a make-up class at a mutually agreeable time.
Tardiness:
o Owing to the importance of a proper warm up to safety and injury prevention, students more then 10 minutes late will be allowed to observe their class, but not to participate.
Proper Attire:
o No jewelry (earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc). Any body piercings that come into contact with the equipment must be taped. No clothing with zippers, hooks or anything that might catch and tear the fabric or your skin. Clothing that is stretchy but not baggy, and fully covers your knees, armpits and waist is recommended.
Registration/Class Cancellation/Withdrawal Policy
o If less then 3 students register for a class, that class will be canceled. Students will have the option of a refund or to have it credited towards a future class.
o Aloft does not issue refunds (except as noted above). If a student needs to withdraw from a class due to medical/personal issues, they should contact Sharon (sharon@aloftcircusarts.com) immediately, as the amount of credit issued towards a future session is based on the date Aloft has been notified of the withdrawal. A doctor’s note is required to return to classes. We are not crazy mean, so please contact us so we may work something out.
Class Policies
o Owing to the nature of aerial and circus arts, Aloft’s teachers have full discretion to ask students to observe or excuse students from classes whose behavior they deem disruptive or whom they deem unsafe to participate for any reason. If the problem persists, the student will not be allowed to continue taking classes at Aloft.
o Aerial and Circus arts are physically and mentally demanding, and have minimum fitness requirements. You should be in good physical condition and be able to pass a doctor’s physical to participate in our classes. Aloft reserves the right to require a doctor’s note and clearance for a student to participate. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us to discuss your situation.
o Students are welcome to have a guest come and watch one class per session. We do not recommend bringing your children under then age of 16, as they cannot participate in our classes. Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior, and if they become a distraction or are not following the teacher or staff’s instructions, parents will need to leave class at that time.
o Professional performers may observe classes, but there is a $20 observation fee per class. Due to the nature of circus arts, we regret that we are unable to allow class observation to people not currently enrolled in classes.
o Aerial and Circus arts are physically and mentally challenging. Aloft’s classes are structured so that students must master a skill set before moving up to the next level. A session does not equal a level. Often students take a level at least twice, often more. To move to the next level of an apparatus, a student must receive their instructor’s permission.
